GBOA’s 20 Questions, With UK Target James Padgett

Padgett is the real deal and has received offers from Florida, Kentucky, Pitt, St. John’s and West Virginia. He and his teammate Joel Wright led an impressive Juice team to the GBOA East title on May 17-18 and will compete in the GBOA Challenge of Champions in August.

1) What are your vital stats?

I play for Juice All-Stars, 6’8 220lbs, was born April 21, 1991 and attend Abraham Lincoln H.S.

 2) How has your summer been so far?

It’s been a great summer. We’ve won tourneys at Providence, GBOA and Pittsburgh.

 3) What do you have coming up?

Upcoming tourneys include Bob Givens, Cincinnati, Las Vegas and the Rumble in the Bronx.

 4) How was last season?

Awesome, had a great playoff run winning the state championship!

 5) What are your college interests?

No one specific right now, but I’m considering a lot of great schools.

 6) What’s important to you when choosing a college?

A good athletic program, strong academics and a comfortable environment.

 7) What’s your favorite H.S. subject?

Definitely math, because I love numbers.

 8- Do you play any other sports besides basketball?

Nope, just basketball.

 9) What are your hobbies outside of basketball?

 I enjoy sleeping in and just taking it easy.

 10) What kind of music do you like?

R&B.

 11) Who is your favorite artist?

Ne-Yo.

 12) What’s your favorite kind of food?

Chicken.

 13) What’s your favorite movie?

The Harry Potter films.

 14) What’s the last good book you read?

The Gatsby.

 15) Who is your favorite NBA player?

I got three, Lebron James, Kevin Garnett and Carmelo Anthony.

 16) If you could play 1 on 1 with anyone, who would it be?

Lebron James, because I think it would be a fun game.

 17) What do you want to improve on this summer?

Every part of my game needs improvement.

 18- Do you have any nicknames?

Something simple like J. Padge.

 19) Where do you see yourself in five years?

Making money and it doesn’t necessarily have to be in basketball.

 20) How was your GBOA experience?

I loved it, it was real cool and winning it was even better.
